3344.TR Blog #1 "How do you learn?"

I learn in many different ways, however I do enjoy working with others the most because I get to see how others think, feel and understand the particular thing we are working on. I also feel that I am a hands on learner as well, it helps me to see why something is the way it is and how to do it, for example when I was a freshman in high school I attended a private school so there classes were very small. My math class had a total of 7 people I think? Anyways the teacher was very hands on with us, there wasn't a day that we didn't go to the board and do our work there, and he wouldn't just have us there alone, he made us all go up at the same time to work, which was great because I always worried about looking "dumb" in front of everyone. Also we would have races to see who could do a problem the fastest and whoever won got a prize so it motivated us to try and learn the work. He always would compliment us which was good and made us feel good about what we were doing. Also support from home is crucial when you have people rooting for you and wanting the best for you, its an awesome feeling and a great motivation. You also have to want it for yourself and have the want for it, because for awhile I was being forced to come to school by my family and I see why now, its my future, I need an education, but until you want it yourself it is very hard to stay focused and be driven. This is still something I struggle with, staying focused! This is preparing for the rest of my life and its a scary thought. Hope everyone has a great weekend see you Tuesday!!

3321 Blog #1 "Children's literature authors"

Hi everyone, guess I'm a little late doing this blog since it was due Thursday. Anyways I was looking online and found some great websites, a few in particular that interested me were:http://www.fairrosa.info/ because it had e-books, magazines and classics that you could access and it also had discussion boards which is always good to be able to read or get involved with so you can see how others feel about a particular book. This is also another site I thought was interesting : http://comminfo.rutgers.edu/professional-development/childlit/HistoryofChildLit/index.html at this site you can look at the history of children's literature and its authors through different websites it has listed. Here is another website I liked: http://www.childrensliteraturenetwork.org/index.php this site has bios of authors and lists of different book plus much more. It was very interesting to put peoples faces with books I read as a child. Here is a link to this cute video the vocabulary parade is such a great idea and gets the kids interested and learning while having fun which is always great: http://www.childrensliteraturenetwork.org/video/vgallery/videos.php .
