3344 TR Blog # 2 Examples of pre/dur/post strategies?
Suppose you were going to be reading a book to your students, before you start you want to do a walk through of the book, and you could then have them tell you what they think its about or draw pictures for a project of what they think will happen and share them with the class to see what others think. Also during the book you could have the children recall certain situations and objects to see if they were paying attention and guess what will happen next and why. Then at the end you could have a group discussion about the book to see what they felt about it and how they understood the book, you could also do this during the book as well. Also relate other lessons to the book by using the character from it or why things happened like the circle books you could compare it too the circle of life or something that ends where it begins type of thing. I loved the idea of the box with the objects from the story in it, that was such a great idea. Have a great weekend everyone!!
